Sitting on a Circle Line tube train in London one morning in January 2007 on his way to work, Alan had one of those rare light bulb moments. Everyone loves a good stew he thought! So, he packed in his day job and set about feeding the nation with his stews – not the scary ones that you remember from school but gorgeous ones using the best ingredients and worldly influences.
His friend Kathryn came along for the ride and before they knew it, mountains of onions and carrots, not to mention copious amounts of meat, found themselves in his kitchen at home awaiting the big stew pot. And stewed! was born.
In April 2009, Alan decided that he needed another stew aficionado - that man was to be Mark. Mark, also a food and cooking nut, loved stewed! stews and thought "what a cracking idea!" And so the team grew!
